This Privacy Policy explains what information SmartLoop.games ("SmartLoop", "we", "us") collects when you use our website and games, and how that information is used. It applies to users worldwide, including the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, where it also serves as our disclosure under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Information we collect

Game progress (local storage). Games such as Street Trader, Canvas Clue, and Monster Factory save your daily progress, scores, and streaks using your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.

TanukiSplit account. If you create an account in TanukiSplit, we use Firebase Authentication (provided by Google) to store your email address and hashed password. We use Firebase Realtime Database to store the budget and expense data you enter, so it can sync across your devices and be shared with the people you invite. This data is only accessible to you and anyone you share the budget code with.

Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (e.g., page views). This tool does not use cookies and does not track you individually across sites.

2. Advertising

SmartLoop may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA or UK, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

• Contract performance — to create and maintain your TanukiSplit account and sync your budget data across devices (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Legitimate interests — to understand aggregate usage of our site via Vercel Analytics, in a privacy-preserving way that does not identify individuals (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Consent — for personalized advertising via Google AdSense, where required by law (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time through the opt-out links above.

4. How we use your information

• To create and authenticate your TanukiSplit account.
• To save and sync your budget data across devices.
• To understand overall traffic and improve the games we build.
• To display advertising that helps keep these games free.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data processors

We rely on the following sub-processors to provide our services:

• Google Firebase (Google LLC, USA) — authentication and database. Firebase Privacy.
• Vercel Inc. (USA) — hosting and privacy-preserving analytics. Vercel Privacy.
• Google AdSense (Google LLC, USA) — advertising. Google Privacy.

These processors may transfer and store your data in the United States. Google LLC and Vercel Inc. participate in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, providing an adequate level of protection for EEA users.

6. Data retention

TanukiSplit account data (email address, budget and expense records) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your account data within 30 days. Local game progress is stored in your browser until you clear your site data.

7. Children's privacy

SmartLoop is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your account and associated data.
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting past processing.

EEA and UK users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority (e.g., AEPD in Spain, CNIL in France, ICO in the UK).
